Hudson Statement on the Passing of Lynda Gayle Owens Petty

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, U.S. Representative Richard Hudson (NC-08) released the following statement regarding the passing of Lynda Gayle Owens Petty, the wife of the “King of NASCAR” and community leader, Richard Petty.

“I was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Mrs. Lynda. She was fondly known throughout our community as the ‘First Lady of Randolph County,’ dedicating her time and efforts to the education of our children. As a loving wife, a caring mother, and a leader in our community, Mrs. Lynda will be missed by many. On behalf of Renee and myself, I send our heartfelt condolences and prayers to the Petty family and the NASCAR community.”
