Hudson Awarded Order of the Long Leaf Pine
WASHINGTON, D.C.– Today, U.S. Representative Richard Hudson (NC-08) released the following statement after receiving The Order of the Long Leaf Pine:
“I am truly humbled and grateful to receive this incredible honor. At a young age, I learned about public service from my Granddaddy. He broke the mold and showed me the importance of caring for your neighbor, serving God, and working to make your community a better place. As long as I can, I’ll strive to live up to his example and serve our great state.”
Rep. Hudson was presented the award by State Senator Wesley Meredith, who represents Cumberland County in the General Assembly. The Order of the Long Leaf Pine is among the most prestigious awards and highest honors conferred by the Governor of North Carolina. It is awarded to persons for exemplary service to the State of North Carolina and their communities that is above and beyond the call of duty and which has made a significant impact and strengthened North Carolina.
