Hudson Applauds Nomination of Gen. Kurilla to Lead Central Command
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Congressman Richard Hudson (R-NC) released the following statement on the nomination of Army Lt. Gen. Michael Erik Kurilla to serve as the next commander of U.S. Central Command:
"I applaud President Joe Biden’s nomination of Army Lt. Gen. Michael Erik Kurilla to lead Central Command. Gen. Kurilla is one of the most exceptional military leaders I have ever known. He has served with distinction at every stage of his career and is the perfect choice to lead Central Command. I have enjoyed working with Gen. Kurilla in his capacity as Commanding General of the 18th Airborne Corps at Fort Bragg and wish him well throughout the confirmation process."
If confirmed by the Senate, Gen. Kurilla would succeed Marine General Frank McKenzie, whose tenure as commander of Central Command is expected to end on April 1.
