Hudson and Scalise Announce Wager on Panthers-Saints Playoff Game
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Representative Richard Hudson (NC-08) and House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (LA-01) announced the details of a friendly wager over Sunday’s NFC Wild Card game between the Carolina Panthers and the New Orleans Saints. As passionate fans and competitive friends, the Members of Congress agreed to a battle for bragging rights and local fried chicken. If the Saints win, Rep. Hudson will supply Majority Whip Scalise with fried chicken from Bojangles' and Cheerwine. If the Panthers win, Majority Whip Scalise will provide Rep. Hudson with fried chicken from Popeyes.
“Like any North Carolinian, I prefer the superior taste of Bojangles', but I am looking forward to a hearty meal of Popeyes fried chicken and victory,” said Rep. Hudson.“I’ll be sure to wash it all down with an ice-cold Cheerwine.”
“The only thing that tastes better than Louisiana’s own Popeyes is the sweet taste of victory,” said Whip Scalise,“and I will be sure to savor that with a side of Bojangles' when the Saints trounce the Panthers this weekend.”
